About Vauxhall digital service records

Vauxhall is one of the UK's most popular brands with an enormous dealer network. The Corsa, Astra, Mokka, and Grandland are best-sellers. Vauxhall maintains comprehensive digital service records.

For a full walkthrough, read our Vauxhall service history guide.

How Vauxhall records service data

Vauxhall's service records sit on the Stellantis dealer management system (the same backbone that serves Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo in the UK). For older Vauxhalls (pre-2017, when Vauxhall was part of GM) records also exist on the legacy GM service system, which Stellantis migrated when it acquired the brand. Every franchised UK Vauxhall dealer visit is logged against the VIN with date, mileage, the service interval triggered (annual / 12,000-mile), itemised line items (oil + filter, brake fluid, cambelt where applicable, pollen filter, plugs), the dealer code, and free-text remarks. Coverage is reliably digital from approximately 2004 onwards, with strong continuity through the GM → PSA → Stellantis ownership transitions. The myVauxhall app shows recent services on newer cars but is not the full dealer record. Vauxhall UK retains records even when a dealer changes ownership or closes.

Useful Vauxhall information

Vauxhall service intervals

Vauxhall recommends servicing every 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first). Oil changes are annual, with major inspections at 2-year intervals.

Vauxhall models we cover

Full UK Vauxhall range is covered across both GM and Stellantis eras: Corsa (D/E/F), Adam, Astra (H/J/K/L) hatch / sports tourer / GTC, Insignia (A/B), Mokka (A/B inc. Mokka-e), Grandland (X / new), Crossland (X), Antara, Zafira (B/C/Tourer / Life), Meriva (A/B), Cascada, VXR8, GTC, plus commercials: Combo (D/E), Vivaro (B/C inc. -e), Movano (B/C), Astravan. The new electric Mokka-e, Corsa-e, Combo-e Life and Vivaro-e are covered. Pre-2004 Astra G, Vectra B and Omega may have partial digital records — older legacy GM records may be retrievable but coverage thins quickly before 2000.

Things to watch when buying a used Vauxhall

Three Vauxhall-specific things to know: First, the ownership transitions matter for record retrieval — Vauxhall was a General Motors brand until 2017, then PSA, now Stellantis. The records persist across all these transitions (Stellantis pulled GM's database in), but very rarely there can be a 1-2 year gap in 2016-2017 for cars whose supplying dealer didn't migrate cleanly. Second, the 1.4 turbo petrol (in Corsa, Astra, Mokka 2010-2018) and 1.6 CDTi diesel had specific timing-chain and turbo issues respectively; verifiable oil-service intervals are the best mitigation. Third, the manual gearbox on older Astras and Corsas (M32 6-speed manual, found in many 1.6/1.7/2.0 diesel and turbo petrol Vauxhalls 2007-2015) has bearing failure issues — dealer service records sometimes include a gearbox oil change as a precautionary measure, which is worth verifying.

Why check Vauxhall service history before buying

Vauxhall resale on the Corsa and Astra is volume-driven and highly sensitive to documented FSH — these are among the most-traded used cars in the UK. FSH typically adds 7-12% to trade-in value over partial-history equivalents. For diesels (1.6 CDTi, 1.7 CDTi) verify DPF entries appear in records. The M32 gearbox bearing issue affects many high-mileage manuals; precautionary gearbox-oil entries in records are reassuring. For Mokka-e, Corsa-e and Vivaro-e EVs verify battery health checks and software updates appear. Older Astra VXR and Insignia VXR (now Astra GSi / Insignia GSi) buyers should look for documented oil-service strictness given the higher engine output.

Vauxhall's own dealer network can sometimes print service history at a branch if you bring ownership documents, but there's no public Vauxhall portal that returns the full dealer record online. Read our free Vauxhall guide for every route — and where the gaps are.

FAQ

Vauxhall service history FAQs

How do I check Vauxhall service history?

Enter the UK registration of the Vauxhall into the form above. We query the official Vauxhall dealer system and return every electronically logged service entry — date, mileage, work performed and dealership. £9.99 — your card is authorised but not charged unless we find records.

Coverage level for Vauxhall

Vauxhall is in our Full Service History tier. Complete service records from manufacturer dealership systems, including service dates, mileage, work performed, and service provider details. Suitable for consumer reports and remarketing.

Does Vauxhall have digital service records?

Vauxhall's service records sit on the Stellantis dealer management system (the same backbone that serves Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Fiat, Jeep and Alfa Romeo in the UK).

What does a Vauxhall service history report show?

For Vauxhall we return full service history from the official dealer system: service date, mileage recorded at the visit, the work performed, and the dealership that carried it out. We also bundle the full DVSA MOT history into the same report at no extra cost.

Will independent garage services appear on my Vauxhall report?

No. Independent garage services do not appear in Vauxhall's manufacturer dealer system. Our report covers Vauxhall franchised dealer records only. If a previous owner used an independent specialist, those visits will be missing here — that's the same gap a Vauxhall dealer would see if you asked them directly.

Can I check Vauxhall service history without owning the vehicle?

Yes. You only need the UK registration of the Vauxhall you're checking. There's no ownership verification step — that's why used-car buyers use the service before paying for a vehicle, to confirm the seller's history claims against the official Vauxhall dealer record.

Why is Vauxhall service history important?

Vauxhall resale on the Corsa and Astra is volume-driven and highly sensitive to documented FSH — these are among the most-traded used cars in the UK.

Can I check Vauxhall service history for free?

Vauxhall's own dealer network can sometimes print service history for you if you visit a branch in person with ownership documents — that's the free route, but it requires a dealer trip and you usually need to be the current owner. There is no public Vauxhall portal that returns the full dealer service record. Our £9.99 lookup runs the same dealer-system query instantly with just the UK registration. Card is authorised but not charged unless records are found.

Does Vauxhall keep digital service records?

Yes. Vauxhall maintains comprehensive digital service records across all UK franchised dealerships through the Stellantis dealer system. Records persist from the GM ownership era and continue under Stellantis.

Can I check Vauxhall service history by registration?

Yes. Enter your Vauxhall registration number to retrieve the complete official service history from the manufacturer database, including franchised dealer visits, recall work, and warranty repairs.

What Vauxhall models are covered?

All Vauxhall models are covered, including Corsa (D/E/F), Astra (H/J/K/L), Insignia, Mokka (inc. Mokka-e), Grandland, Crossland, Zafira / Zafira Life, plus commercials Combo, Vivaro (inc. -e) and Movano.

Did the GM-to-Stellantis ownership change affect records?

No, but it's worth knowing. Vauxhall transitioned from GM (pre-2017) to PSA (2017-2021) to Stellantis (2021-present). Records persist across all transitions because the dealer-system database was migrated. Very rarely a 2016-2017 dealer migration left small gaps for individual cars.

Does the myVauxhall app show all dealer records?

No. The myVauxhall app shows recent services on newer cars. Older entries, recall work, and warranty repairs often only appear via a dealer-system lookup. The dealer record is the authoritative source.

Are records reliable for pre-2010 Vauxhalls?

Yes, generally. Astra H (2004-2009), Corsa D, Vectra C and Zafira B have consistent digital coverage from 2004 onwards. Pre-2004 (Astra G, Vectra B, Omega, Frontera) may have partial records depending on supplying dealer.

What about the M32 gearbox issue?

The M32 6-speed manual gearbox (used in many 1.6/1.7/2.0 turbo and CDTi Vauxhalls 2007-2015) has a known bearing failure issue at high mileage. Some dealers performed precautionary gearbox-oil changes — these appear in the service record. Their presence is a positive sign for engine longevity.

How does service history affect Vauxhall resale?

Vauxhall resale (particularly Corsa and Astra) is highly sensitive to documented FSH. Full Service History typically adds 7-12% to trade-in value over partial-history equivalents. For the higher-end Insignia and Grandland, dealer history is even more important to private and trade buyers.
