About Nissan digital service records

Nissan is a Japanese manufacturer with a large UK presence, including their Sunderland factory. The Qashqai, Juke, Leaf, and X-Trail are hugely popular. Nissan maintains full digital service records.

For a full walkthrough, read our Nissan service history guide.

How Nissan records service data

Nissan GB uses the Nissan Dealer Management System (DMS / Service Bay) to log every franchised UK dealer service against the VIN. Records typically include the service date, mileage, the service type (Essential at 12,500-mile / annual; Comprehensive at 25,000-mile / 2-year for most models), itemised work performed, the dealer code, and any free-text remarks on additional repairs. Records also include warranty work, recall completion, and software updates. Nissan UK records are reliably digital from approximately 2003 onwards; the Sunderland factory's UK output (Qashqai, Juke from 2010, Leaf from 2013) is particularly well-served. The NissanConnect Services app shows a recent-service summary for newer cars; older records and recall work often only appear via dealer-system lookup. Leaf-specific records include the battery State of Health (SoH) check which is logged as part of the annual service.

Useful Nissan information

Nissan service intervals

Nissan recommends servicing every 12 months or 12,500 miles (whichever comes first). The Leaf EV has simplified servicing at annual intervals.

Nissan models we cover

Full UK Nissan range is covered: Micra (K12/K13/K14), Note, Pulsar, Almera, Tiida, Juke (F15/F16), Qashqai (J10/J11/J12), X-Trail (T31/T32/T33), Murano, Pathfinder, 350Z / 370Z, GT-R R35, Leaf (ZE0/ZE1), Ariya, e-NV200, NV200 / NV300 / NV400 vans, Navara (D40/D23 NP300), Patrol. The British-built Qashqai and Juke have particularly strong coverage. Older Primera, Almera Tino, Terrano II, and Serena may have partial records depending on supplying dealer. Pre-2003 Nissans (R34 Skyline, S15 Silvia imports) often have no UK digital records.

Things to watch when buying a used Nissan

Three Nissan-specific things to be aware of: First, the CVT automatic transmission (in Qashqai, Juke, Note, X-Trail and several others) requires a fluid change at roughly 40,000-60,000 miles depending on use — this is one of the most frequently-skipped service items and is the leading cause of expensive CVT failure. Verify the dealer record shows the CVT fluid change at the right mileage. Second, the 1.5 dCi diesel (in Qashqai, Note, Juke; shared with Renault) has known turbo and DPF issues — verifiable dealer service history significantly reduces risk. Third, for Leaf EVs, the annual battery State of Health check is a separate line item that records the percentage capacity remaining. SoH directly affects resale value, so its presence (or absence) in records matters.

Why check Nissan service history before buying

Nissan resale value depends heavily on documented service history, particularly for the Qashqai and Juke which dominate the family SUV market. FSH typically adds 8-12% to trade-in value over partial-history equivalents. For the Leaf, the battery SoH reading in dealer records is one of the single most important data points affecting price — a 90% SoH Leaf can be £2,000+ more than an 80% SoH equivalent on the same mileage. CVT fluid service entries are critical to verify; missing CVT services often lead to transmission failure costing £3,000-£5,000. GT-R buyers should verify oil service intervals were respected given the high-output VR38DETT engine.

Nissan's own dealer network can sometimes print service history at a branch if you bring ownership documents, but there's no public Nissan portal that returns the full dealer record online. Read our free Nissan guide for every route — and where the gaps are.

FAQ

Nissan service history FAQs

How do I check Nissan service history?

Enter the UK registration of the Nissan into the form above. We query the official Nissan dealer system and return every electronically logged service entry — date, mileage, work performed and dealership. £9.99 — your card is authorised but not charged unless we find records.

Coverage level for Nissan

Nissan is in our Full Service History tier. Complete service records from manufacturer dealership systems, including service dates, mileage, work performed, and service provider details. Suitable for consumer reports and remarketing.

Does Nissan have digital service records?

Nissan GB uses the Nissan Dealer Management System (DMS / Service Bay) to log every franchised UK dealer service against the VIN.

What does a Nissan service history report show?

For Nissan we return full service history from the official dealer system: service date, mileage recorded at the visit, the work performed, and the dealership that carried it out. We also bundle the full DVSA MOT history into the same report at no extra cost.

Will independent garage services appear on my Nissan report?

No. Independent garage services do not appear in Nissan's manufacturer dealer system. Our report covers Nissan franchised dealer records only. If a previous owner used an independent specialist, those visits will be missing here — that's the same gap a Nissan dealer would see if you asked them directly.

Can I check Nissan service history without owning the vehicle?

Yes. You only need the UK registration of the Nissan you're checking. There's no ownership verification step — that's why used-car buyers use the service before paying for a vehicle, to confirm the seller's history claims against the official Nissan dealer record.

Why is Nissan service history important?

Nissan resale value depends heavily on documented service history, particularly for the Qashqai and Juke which dominate the family SUV market.

Can I check Nissan service history for free?

Nissan's own dealer network can sometimes print service history for you if you visit a branch in person with ownership documents — that's the free route, but it requires a dealer trip and you usually need to be the current owner. There is no public Nissan portal that returns the full dealer service record. Our £9.99 lookup runs the same dealer-system query instantly with just the UK registration. Card is authorised but not charged unless records are found.

Does Nissan keep digital service records?

Yes. Nissan maintains comprehensive digital service records across all UK franchised dealerships through the Nissan Dealer Management System. Service date, mileage, type, and itemised work are all logged.

Can I check Nissan service history by registration?

Yes. Enter your Nissan registration number to retrieve the complete official service history, including franchised dealer visits, recall work, warranty repairs, and (for Leaf) battery State of Health checks.

What Nissan models are covered?

All Nissan models are covered, including Micra, Juke, Qashqai, X-Trail, Murano, Pathfinder, Leaf, Ariya, GT-R, Navara, and the NV-series vans.

Why is CVT fluid service so important?

Nissan's CVT automatic (used in Qashqai, Juke, Note, X-Trail and others) requires a fluid change at 40,000-60,000 miles. It's the single most-skipped service item and the leading cause of expensive CVT failure (£3,000-£5,000 repair). Verifying this entry in records is essential.

Are Leaf battery checks logged?

Yes. The annual battery State of Health (SoH) check appears as a specific line item in Nissan dealer records, showing the percentage capacity remaining. SoH is one of the most important data points for Leaf resale value — a 90% SoH car is significantly more valuable than an 80% SoH equivalent.

Are pre-2010 Qashqai records reliable?

Yes. The Mk1 Qashqai (J10, 2007-2013) was built in Sunderland and has consistent UK dealer record coverage from 2007 onwards. Pre-2003 Nissans may have partial records depending on supplying dealer.

Does the NissanConnect app show full service history?

No. NissanConnect Services shows recent services for newer cars. Older entries, recall work, and warranty repairs often only appear via a dealer-system lookup. The dealer record is the authoritative source.

How does service history affect Nissan resale?

Nissan resale value depends heavily on documented FSH, particularly for the Qashqai and Juke. Full Service History typically adds 8-12% to trade-in over partial-history equivalents. For Leaf, the battery SoH entry is a major price differentiator on its own.
